If there was a choice between a DAF 44 sedan or 46 estate for sale, which one would you pick? I know the difference between them, 2 belts for the 44 and 1 belt for the 46. The 46 is the more "upgraded" model of the 44. Anything I have overlooked? I have a Peugeot 306 estate, so I like estates as they can fit more and are more practical. What are your views guys and gals?

Estate for me, I have a 46 estate I got it as I wanted an Estate. I do not like the single belt of the 46 or the dash, as a car i think the 44 is better but it would have to be the estate.

LOL, that's made things more complicated. I prefer the estate as well as it is more practical. However, the estate is the 46. The 44 is a normal sedan. I'm with John, I'm weary of the fact that the 46 only has one belt.

Needless to say, I'd buy 'em both ;D If you're on about the Two Stroke to Turbo DAF's, I prefer the 46 (gut reaction only). Don't ask me to start using my common sense as you'd be wasting your time!

LOL, if I had the room then I would. I'll throw another one in then. What if I knew of another 44. 1967, red seats and white body, 1st generation, left hand drive.

Sounds like a nice car, LHD is only a problem in the uk when you want to overtake something, so its not a problem in the uk at all. First gen 44 we need pics and someone needs to give it to me!!!

I will take some pics when it gets delivered on Thursday. He kindly brings it to Luton on the back of a lorry for £20. I'll try to take some pics of the 33 and the 66 Marathon as well. I sure have my hands full. I'm trying to find another garage to put the 46 in.

The white one is being worked at. He is restoring it and should be a good project. We did get the 46 to run, it was rough but I think it's out of petrol. Paul, did you find a home for that yellow 66 you showed us a few months ago?

"A TEL POUR VENIR LA VOIRE JUSTE AILE AVANT DROITE A REFAIRE" - - - Rough translation for you - "Telephone to come and see it. Just the right front wing to repair". Not a mass of details, but looks great on the photo

The 44 in Belgium went for 760 Euros. They revised the text, it now says that the car in the picture is not the actual car. God knows what is does look like for real then.
