I know we'd all like to do all our repairs / restorations "just so", and that (at least some of us) have to cut corners now & then due to lack of finances / facilities / time etc. There's an example of NOT cutting corners here: forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7537that I thought you guys might appreciate. It's a Dolomite Sprint restoration where, from the start, he said he wanted it as close to factory as he could. But, when he starts rejecting a replacement numberplate light because it's "a very, very good copy but... it's not Lucas" and other parts because they're sticky-labelled British Leyland instead of Triumph (so are newer than the car) I can't help feeling he's going a little far. He's even stripped and painted the TEMPORARY back axle he's fitting - just to roll it round the garage on while the original is rebuilt!!!

Crikey, he is doing a grand job by the looks of it. The biggest job is yet to start though...
