A nice new garage for Goldie and to work in, that's great news Joe. I vote for Dafopolis if there's a poll, I'll embroider you a Daf logo onto some curtains on the machines at work when you're ready.

It will be good when it's done, should be all sorted in a few weeks. Meanwhile, look what has just come in the post! This should keep me busy for a while! I will enjoy browsing through these again as I have done before when they were all scanned on the now sadly departed siteje.com Look out for them being scanned very soon!

Oh! Pleased for you you've got around to renewing the garage. I had a quote from a refurbishment company that a neighbour had used for our concrete/asbestos model. Out of curiosity if anything. This was for new cladding & roof. £1800 They quoted!
I suspect I could have a whole new garage for that!! Though I'm often out of date with these things.

That is certainly pretty much nearly the going rate for a brand new single garage! I do suspect that it is more work refurbishing than just popping a new one up.

I've finished scanning the Daf Automagazines! You can find them here: www.variomatic.co.uk/other-documents.htmlGoldie is still going strong, and we had a nice day out last weekend with some other Daffers But both front tyres have gone this week! Both punctured within two days of each other. So another expense! God alone knows what I've driven through.

I'm going to need a big drip tray as Goldie likes to leave her mark everywhere. I topped her oil up today, for any of you who wonder why Goldie rattles quite a bit at idle this picture should pretty much sum it up. Progress is being made on her new home. I've spent most of the weekend painting the floor. I have started preliminary work on the battens for the plaster boarding. Note to all this is NOT as easy as its made out and every single screw holding the concrete panels together is a slightly different angle to every other. This should keep me quite busy. Electricity is the main thing that needs to be sorted out. I can run an extension cable from the plug at the bottom of the garden. So I can get power. So I put this up. Even though the rest of the place is nowhere near finished yet!

It is always a pleasure to belt along in a 46! Even though at this time of year my motorway communte in the dark can be rather hairy at times. Speaking of hairy.... This is why we can't have nice things! Still I have managed to scan the remains of this rare brochure of a very rare Daf. www.variomatic.co.uk/daf-44-bestel-stationcar-np8055.html

I've had something of a busy long weekend. First the battening, then the plasterboarding............. Which started slow, but then we got to this.... Then painting..... A bit of skirting to finish it off... Still a bit left to do as the electricity needs to be sorted and the last wall done after that... But I couldn't resist putting this up, I've had it nearly a year!! The finish is in sight!!! More updates to come soon!!

Marvelous!
Did I spy a log effect electric fire there as well? This suggests that you, as well as Goldie, will spend much time in there!

That is rather fab. Often wondered how easy it was to drill into that sort of concrete for shelving or brackets etc.

It is impossible! You need clips to bolt it onto the set screws that hold the walls together. This weekend has mainly being turning a Garage into a Daf Home.... I had a little help too.....
