I've been working for most of the weekend, but got a chance on Sunday to take her out with the Missus and Bichon Frise in tow for a good run out into the pleasantly Alpine Derbyshire Dales. The sunny day and the copious blobs of snow still lingering reminded me of this.... At least it ended a little better. More to come!

Cool - and that's just the weather! Lovely to see the DAF out and about.
Talking of the Italian Job and dogs, it gives me another excuse to link to this, which always makes me smile.
(If I knew how to do a link thing to take you straight there, I would)

I have two Questions if anyone can answer them:
What is the correct name/code for the colour of Goldie?
And is is possible to fit Inertia Reel Seatbelts in the back? There are mountings for three point seatbelts you can see them in the C Pillar, but is there anywhere to stick the reel?

My 66 has inertia reel belts in the back. I can take some photos of how they are fitted when I pop in to check up on it tomorrow if you want.

She's actually officially Terrana gold but beware, Goldie has had a blow over in the distant past and the shade is different from what should be. The best bet is to get her colour matched or if you are feeling flush, a respray to make her look 100%. She is a cracking car and I was rather fond of her.

My 66 has inertia reel belts in the back. I can take some photos of how they are fitted when I pop in to check up on it tomorrow if you want. So, I took some photos of the rear seat belts on my 66. They only use 2 points of mounting for the belt and 1 for the buckle. The reel acts as one of the mounts. The ones fitted to my car are Securon 254 and are the ones Securon recommend for the back of a Daf. They have fitting instructions here: www.securon.co.uk/fitting/extras/254fitting.htm (look at the 3 point automatic belt diagram). Here's the reel which is also the upper mount: And the lower mount: Mark

Tickerty! That answers that. Does your 66 have what look to be mounts in the C Pillar at all then? They might just be a later Volvo addition.
Goldie is going in for her MOT in a few weeks and I'm going to get my local friendly garage to put a new set of seatbelts in while they are at it. Expensive yes but since I intend to keep her forever it's not really that much to shell out.
By the time the summer comes round properly she should have a big sticker down the side saying "Sponsored by Mastercard"!

Good luck joe.i don't recall seeing that bad so you should be ok. Mine has not been out for over a month, I think that mine will need welding again for the mot as it sat out full of water during winter!

Ah MOT time It's a unique feeling even when confident. Then when you get the ticket, you (or me at least) feel a sense of gratitude to the tester ;D Or am I just odd?

I doubt there will be anything major. But I'm prepared for any little wee bits of welding that they might need to do.
No Daffing today as it's blowing a gale (and the fact that Goldie doesn't have an MOT!). I'm going to try and make some classic Dutch Poffertjes!
I shall let you know how I get on....

I haven't got a proper pan so my poffertjes ended up more like small fluffy pannenkoek.

Some welding and some dollar and voila! We have 12 months of legal Daffing to look forward too!
New seatbelts in too. I shall take some pictures when I get the old girl back tomorrow morning.
I've ordered a proper Poffertjes pan from the internet too.......

To the AGM? As long as nothing falls off today then yep. I'm going out with the current Mrs Joe this evening down Chatsworth Road for her Birthday. My sister is making a guest appearance too so as long as I don't get too drunk and as long as I dont have to bail my sister out of the nick in the morning I will be there with bells on!

Well done in the MOT scheme of things. Cor, my parents had the exact same side plate as the one in your picture. It should date from the early to mid 70's.

It does come from the 70's. The design is called Bacchus and they are buy a long defunct Staffordshire company called Kiln Craft. My nan had a full set which is long gone to I have been picking bits up second hand for ages. I love it it couldn't be any more 70's! I Love Hornsea stuff too which I have bits and bobs. None of it is worth anything but it's great stuff.
andrejuan, if you want to have a look just message me. You don't live too far and I can always be persuaded to trundle out into the Derbyshire countryside.

Been tootling about and perfecting Dutch Cuisine. I now have a proper Poffertjes pan. Milk, Yeast, Two big cups of self raising flour, two eggs, a pinch of salt and some sugar and you get this: Which then after popping them in a pan makes these. I'm getting better at them now. I've booked Goldie in to get tarted up. No idea if they will be able to match the colour up. I have found one place online that seems to list Terrana. Has anyone any experience of this outfit? www.autopaintsbrighton.co.uk/daf-classic--vintage-car-paint-cellulose-codes--colours-705-p.asp

Yum, and a Heineken too...very Dutch!
Well, colour match isn't so vital if you're doing the whole car but if its a touch up here and there then I'd go somewhere to get a colour match specially made.

I've given the old girl a quick wash today. Digital cameras are very flattering I must say. I have the interior a bit of a hoover, not that it made much difference. Note the wet patch in the drivers footwell after I'd washed it. Not good! And for andrejuan, note the new rear seat belts. Cracking. And my good luck charm. So next week she goes in to get tarted up, I'm looking forward to it I must say.

Still belting along around Chesterfield. She was going to go up to Scotland this past weekend but the addition of my niece, my dog and about 5 weeks worth of luggage meant that wasn't going to happen. She still looks far better in pictures than in real life!
