Re timing there are 2 marks on the crank pulley and a corrosponding arrow on the other side. The first is TDC the second is 5 after line up to the second. Gap the points clean and gap the plugs and you should be ok.
Your friend didn't by anychance have a second valve in his tool kit?

sorry no.. that was the only thing he had left, and he only had that cause it was wedged in a golden virginia tin, I am ordering an air filter and engine mount from Danny at some point though so would be happy to add a carter valve to my order to save you postage if it helps?

Ahh it would be wise to do it the other way round Nick as I have a big order for Danny in the pipeline.
2 Front shocks Inlet Manifold with hotspots he has some Rear suspension bushes the bits the coil sits on mine are perished to death Air filter and Carter valve
Adding your stuff probably wouldn't even increase postage costs ;D

well as some of you can see BB is changing hands again.. I took her in PX against my classic car and now he has decided there is no way on gods earth he can afford to buy/insure my humber so not only am I still in possession of that he now wants me to either buy the daf or take it back... so there you go.. daf owner for the shortest time in history but soon to be dafless again... he wants 450 pounds for her or her returned so figured id offer it up here first... just had belt adjusted, fresh oil, and has been a reliable if not noisy car lol.... call me 07718900065

Go on Nick find the £450 and stay in the DAF world. Id lend you some to help you keep her if you need it. Its a good car that one and your unlikely to find better.
Even if you do get rid please stay on the forum as your input is valued

from what I can see on retrorides hes forever after cars, he seems anice enough fellow to deal with to be honest and I honestly sort of think its just a case of bad judgement on both our halves so its just one of those life lessons.. next tim eI px ill see my old car gone and cash in my hand before accepting the new one....
